Aubrey Ares began dancing at the age of 3 in Chandler Arizona. Her technical training covered several styles such as Ballet, Jazz, Tap, Hip Hop, Contemporary, Lyrical & Acrobatics. By the age of 15, she had won numerous regional competitions titles and competed at national dance competitions around the world.
She was also inducted into the “Honors Society of Dance” and finished out her Senior year of High School and awarded “The Young Artist Award” in 2011.
At age 18, Aubrey moved to Los Angeles to pursue her dream of becoming a Los Angeles Laker Girl. She was fortunate to earn a spot on the Staples floor for two seasons and traveled with the Los Angeles Laker Team to several countries. At the same time, she was contracted with “Movement Talent Agency” (MTA). Aubrey was sent to her very first audition and landed a role with VH1’s hit TV show “Hit The Floor”.
She has also had the opportunity to do some work with Disney, Fox, ESPN, spotlighted on “The Laker Girls” TV show and a commercial with Toyota. Additional work has been done with Carrie Underwood, Tosh.0, Maya Rudolp and Neon Hitch.
In 2014, Aubrey began her training in Bachata which was her introduction to Latin Dancing. Since then, she has traveled around the world teaching Bachata and Technical dance.
In 2016, She was selected to be a cheerleader for the”Los Angeles Rams” NFL Team and nominated as captain of the cheer team. At the same time, Aubrey launched
“Empowered Movement Dance Company” in Los Angeles where she share’s her love of dance by training Latin Dancers in both Bachata and Technical Dance styles.
Miguel, originally from Toluca, Mexico, has been dancing for as long as he can remember. His father was trained dancer who studied at the Escuela de Bellas Artes in Mexico. Dancing and music was an everyday way of life for their family. At the age of 14, Miguel decided to take his dancing to the next level.He began taking Salsa classes with various instructors such as Tomas Olivera, Francisco Vasquez, and Carmen Bambaren. It was their classes where his passion for dance grew even more.
Once graduated from High School, Miguel went to California State University Fullerton where he became a member of the CSUF Salsa Team. Under the direction of Kazumi DeVries, he learned different styles and performed at school events around campus. As he became more familiar with the Latin dance scene in Los Angeles, he soon discovered Stevens Steakhouse in the city of Commerce. It was there where he discovered his love of Bachata!
Miguel was a regular attendee for the Bachata Class at Stevens which was led by Jorge Contreras, Demetrio Rosario, and Aubrey Ares. Two months after taking Que Rico’s Bachata classes, he auditioned for their performance team. His first season with Que Rico was intense as he trained in the intermediate team and later moved up to the advanced team. His love of bachata turned into a career his third season with Que Rico when he was offered the opportunity to become a director and lead his own team. Teaching had always been something Miguel wanted to do, so when the opportunity presented itself he was ready. Six months later,he had two of his own teams.
Now 2018, miguel co-owns empowered movement dance company featuring 7 teams. He know travels as a professional instructing teach his La style of bachata alongside Aubrey Ares. Also, he is also working in the commercial dance world featuring in upcoming commercials and TV shows.
