Marissa Rivera is an up and coming LA Zoukeira who has more than 14 years of dance training under her belt ranging from Modern, Contemporary, Jazz, Salsa, Bachata, Zouk and the list goes on! She was first trained and formerly a member Shani Mayer and Ivo Vieira’s Zouk and Kizomba instructor’s team. Marissa spent time in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil training with “The Queen of Zouk” ,Renata Peçanha, at her studio and has also privately trained with Zouk instructors such as Paloma Alves, Bruno Galhardo, Leonardo and Becky Neeves, Clinton Lacerda, Cristi Boone.
Rinaldo Melo had his first experience with latin social dance at the age of 18 in Brazil. He has since then exposed himself to intensive training under Leonardo Neves, Val Clemente, Renata Peçanha, Clinton Lacerda, Cristi Boone, Ivo Vieira and Shani Mayer. He has competed several times and placed at Jack and Jill’s competitions in both USA and Brazil. He was the co-founder of CG Zouk Project in Brazil, a project that has the goal of growing the Brazilian Zouk community in his home city Campina Grande.
Together Rinaldo and Marissa run Zouk Vibes of Orange County classes and monthly social. They hold the 1st place Semi-pro division title from the 2017 US Zouk Open hosted by LA Zouk Congress, as well as multiple top 3 titles in official Zouk Jack and Jill’s competition in the US and Brazil.
